Happy Birthday, Marines

"Wer sind diese Teufelshunde?"
"Who are these Devil Dogs?"

November 10, 2011, will be the 236th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. The Corps was founded in 1775 in Philadelphia where two battalions of Continental Marines were formed as a naval infantry by Captain Samuel Nicholas. The Marines conducted ship-to-ship fighting, provided shipboard security and disciplined enforcement, and assisted the landing forces.

The following four videos show the esprit de corps of all the men and women having served in the USMC, both then and now.

2011 Marine Corps 236th Birthday Message - HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEVIL DOGS!

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. ~ John Stuart Mill
