I Am A Warrior And This Is My Song

War is Hell.

Any free man today is free only because another walked through that Hell, and prevailed. America's enemy in time of war or peace, over the last 100 years, has always been a very evil enemy. It was true 67 years ago, March 11, 1945 ago in Bauan, Philippines, and it is true today in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, and all other islamic countries.

The differences between 1945 and now are several. 1. The spirit of islam is even more evil than the spirits of the Imperial Japanese Arny and the spirit of nazis Germany. 2. We are not willing to kill the enemy now as we were than. But rather we continue to spill our own blood, and lose the lives of our own young men and women (not to mention the sacrificed minds, limbs and forever changed futures of those who return home) to do nothing more than prop up the evil enemy to fight another day. 3. We have no Generals, i.e. General George W. Patton, Jr., with balls enough to do what is right in the face of political correctness. (Our effort to win the hearts and minds of musloids anywhere is destined to rot in Hell with all the other foolish and unforgivable endeavors now undertaken by or allowed by Americans throughout our land.) 4. When you watch the video below consider the evil in our own country in the slaughter of babies everyday in our own country, while Christians do the political correct thing, which is to just standby. How will we ever have the courage to remove wickedness from America, i.e. the islamic culture, abortion, gay marriage, an ungodly burden of debt, etc., when the Church does nothing whatsoever to stop it.

Maybe we are just not praying enough - I'm convinced that is true. Maybe we are just not participating in and effectively influencing the politics of this country - I'm convinced that is true. And maybe our freedom is no longer worth fighting for, worth of sacrificing for, worth of dying for - I'm convinced that must true.

My prayer is "Father, God, in the Name of Jesus Christ Your Son Who was crucified on the cross for all of our sins, I pray you will send us a leader; a David, a Joshua, a Gideon, a Daniel, a Peter, a Paul, a Washington, a Lincoln, a Patton, a McCarthy who will have a God-given ability, a God-given dedication, a God-given moral compass, and a God-given willingness to lead Your Church back into its rightful place in this earth. It is up to Your Church to demonstrate and promote your love to all of mankind, and it is up to Your Church to defend itself and destroy  wickedness every time it threatens and every time it attacks. It is up to Your Church to glorify You. In Jesus' precious Name I pray. Amen."

67 Years Ago February 28, 1945. These WW II photos were not taken in Bauan, Philippines. The pictures in this video were used to represent what happened to Bauan as narrated by the survivors.

Speaking of General George W. Patton:

"...many think that wars can be decided by soulless machines, rather than by the blood and anguish of brave men..."

"Attack rapidly, ruthlessly, viciously, without rest, however tired and hungry you may be, the enemy will be more tired, more hungry. Keep punching."

"In war the only sure defense is offense, and the efficiency of the offense depends on the warlike souls of those conducting it."

"No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the ther poor dumb bastard die for his country."

"May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't"

"Sure, we want to go home. We want this war over with. The quickest way to get it over with is to go get the bastards who started it. The quicker they are whipped, the quicker we can go home. The shortest way home is through Berlin and Tokyo. And when we get to Berlin, I am personally going to shoot that paper hanging son-of-a-bitch Hitler. Just like I'd shoot a snake!"

"I believe in the old and sound rule that an ounce of sweat will save a gallon of blood. The harder WE push, the more Germans we will kill. The more Germans we kill, the fewer of our men will be killed. Pushing means fewer casualties. I want you all to remember that."

“War is a bloody, killing business. You've got to spill their blood, or they will spill yours. Rip them up the belly. Shoot them in the guts. When shells are hitting all around you and you wipe the dirt off your face and realize that instead of dirt it's the blood and guts of what once was your best friend beside you, you'll know what to do!"

"Each man must not think only of himself, but also of his buddy fighting beside him. We don't want yellow cowards in this Army. They should be killed off like rats. If not, they will go home after this war and breed more cowards.

The cowardly bastard could say, "Hell, they won't miss me, just one man in thousands". But, what if every man thought that way? Where in the hell would we be now? What would our country, our loved ones, our homes, even the world, be like?”

"Why, by God, I actually pity those poor sons-of-bitches we're going up against. By God, I do".

“There are four hundred neatly marked graves somewhere in Sicily. All because one man went to sleep on the job. (Paused) But they are German graves, because we caught the bastard asleep before they did".

"You are not all going to die," he said slowly. "Only two percent of you right here today would die in a major battle. Death must not be feared. Death, in time, comes to all men. Yes, every man is scared in his first battle. If he says he's not, he's a liar. Some men are cowards but they fight the same as the brave men or they get the hell slammed out of them watching men fight who are just as scared as they are. The real hero is the man who fights even though he is scared. Some men get over their fright in a minute under fire. For some, it takes an hour. For some, it takes days. But a real man will never let his fear of death overpower his honor, his sense of duty to his country, and his innate manhood. Battle is the most magnificent competition in which a human being can indulge. It brings out all that is best and it removes all that is base.

– General George W. Patton, Jr.

To close out this post I once again feel compelled to include one of the versions of my all time favorite You Tube song.

Stand tall, be proud. Most will never fight, but pray that the few who do will be allowed to win. Our continued freedom depends on it.

Presenting: The Warrior Song

Before you go to sleep tonight, thank God for all the men and women serving the American people and serving our country by serving in our United States Military! Thank God for all those who have served in the past! Because of them, we are free!!

Jesus Is A Friend Of Mine

Jesus is a friend of mine.
Jesus is my friend.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
I have a friend in Jesus.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
Jesus is my friend.
Jesus is a friend of mine.

He taught me how to live, my life as it should be.He taught me how to turn my cheek when people laugh at me.
I've had friends before, and I can tell you that, He's one who will never leave you flat.

Jesus is a friend of mine.
Jesus is my friend.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
I have a friend in Jesus.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
Jesus is my friend.
Jesus is a friend of mine.

He taught me how to pray, and how to save my soul.
He taught me how to praise my God and still play rock and roll.
The music may sound different but the message is the same.
It's just the instruments who praise His name.

Jesus is a friend of mine.
Jesus is my friend.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
I have a friend in Jesus.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
Jesus is a friend of mine.

Funky guitar riff

Jesus is a friend of mine.
Jesus is a friend of mine.

Once I tried to run, I tried to run and hide.
But Jesus came and found me and He touched me down inside.
He is like mountie, He always gets His man, and He'll zap you any way he can.
Zap.

Jesus is a friend of mine.
Jesus is my friend.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
I have a friend in Jesus.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
Jesus is my friend.
Jesus is a friend of mine.

He loves me when I'm right, He loves me when I'm wrong.
He loves me when I waste my time by writing silly songs.
He loves me when I'm quiet and I have nothing to say.
He'll love me when I'm perfect if I ever get that way.
Whooo!

Jesus is a friend of mine.
Jesus is my friend.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
I have a friend in Jesus.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
Jesus is my friend.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
I have a friend in Jesus.
Jesus is a friend of mine.
J-J-J-Jesus.
Jesus is a friend of mine.

Update: Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani's Impending Exectuon

Jay Sekulow provided an update on Fox News with Megyn Kelly shedding light on Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani's impending exectuon in Iran. Nadarkhani has been in prison for his Christian faith for over 860 days. There is a growing outcry worldwide calling for his release. Iran must not be allowed to use Pastor Youcef's life as a political tool.

Iranian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani

On September 29, 2011 I put a post on this blog titled Truth & Courage - Bible & Barnhardt. In part that post was about a Christian pastor, Youcef Nadarkhani, facing death because he would not renounce his faith and return to Islam. The following article published on the International Business Times brings us up to date on Pastor Nadarkhani's plight.

Iranian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani Gets Final Execution Order

Iran has issued what could be the final execution order for Youcef Nadarkhani, the Christian pastor who was found guilty of renouncing Islam.
Nadarkhani has been waiting in limbo for this verdict for months. After turning down four separate chances to convert to Islam to save his life, Iranian officials delayed their sentencing, leaving the pastor to await his fate inside a cell in Iran's Gilan province. But now, Nadarkhani could be executed within days.
"They are threatening to execute a pastor who is, in my opinion, totally innocent," said U.S. Representative Joseph Pitts (R. - PA), who is sponsoring a congressionalresolution to call for Nadarkhani's freedom.

"He's facing the threat of execution on false charges just because of his religious belief. He's willing to face the hangman's noose over this."
On Monday, the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), an international Christian and human rightsorganization, discovered that Nadarkhani's "life is in imminent danger" and that "the situation has not been this dire" since the organization first learned of his arrest. While that first report did not go into specifics, the organization believes it has confirmed the execution order and that, at least as of Tuesday, Nadarkhani was still alive.

"Iran's legal system is not like any legal system in the world. [The order] is still being kept secret. Even his legal team might not find out about the execution until the body is delivered to the family," said Jordan Sekulow, executive director of the ACLJ.
Crisis of Faith

The pastor, who once led a small congregation of about 400 worshipers in the northwest part of the country, was originally arrested in 2009 for apostasy, the crime of abandoning one's faith. Although apostasy is not a crime under Iran's official legal code, it is punishable by death according to Ayatollah Khomeini's fatwas and religious decrees, thereby bringing Nadarkhani's trial through Iran's special Revolutionary Court.

Under Iranian law, anyone born to Muslim parents is a Muslim. Nadarkhani claimed in his defense that he never accepted the Islamic faith and that he became a Christian before 15, the age of religious maturity in Iran. And while Christianity is a protected religion under Iran's constitution, Nadarkhani was also charged with converting other Muslims to Christianity through his evangelism, which is a crime.
A year after his arrest Nadarkhani, was "convicted of turning his back on Islam, the greatest religion of the prophesy of Mohammad, at the age of 19," according to a court ruling from December, 2010. That's when the first death sentence was handed out. After many attempts to get the pastor to repent, the case eventually made it to the Supreme Court and then to the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who is still the final judge.
If the order goes through, it will be the first time that anyone has been officially hanged for apostasy in Iran in over 20 years.
(However, the legal system allows Iran to publish charges after a criminal has been executed, meaning that the court can mask an apostasy execution after the fact by changing the conviction. Iran has already made claims that Nadarkhani was arrested for "security-related crimes" like Zionism and spying -- claims which court documents refuted but were made nonetheless.)
Final Plea

Along with Pitts, who is co-sponsoring the bill with Rep. Keith Ellison (D. - Minn), the White House, UK Foreign Secretary William Hague, the Archbishop of Canterbury and the European Union have also condemned Iran for breaking with the Universal Declaration of Human rights, of which Iran is a signatory.

But these official censures may be too little too late. Iran's execution orders are kept private, so the details are unclear and the execution order could be carried out at any time.
In Iran, those sentenced to death generally don't wait long for execution. Alireza Molla-Soltani, a teenager convicted of the murder of "Iran's strongest man," was sentenced to death on Aug. 20, 2011, denied appeal on Sept. 11, and then hanged on Sept. 21. Thus, Nadarkhani could be hanged in a matter of days.
"There are grave concerns that the death sentence could be carried out at any time without prior notification and that the authorities will merely announce it later, a practice that is not uncommon in Iran," activist group Christian Solidarity Worldwide stated.
If the execution is held publicly, it will have to be approved by Ayatollah Sadegh Larijani. But if it's done in private, which most hangings in Iran are, it may not be known about until days or weeks after it occurs, the ACLJ points out.
Still, Pitts and Sekulow believe that if enough international attention on the issue is brought quickly to the fore, the pressure will be enough change the minds of Iranian leadership, at least for the time being.
"It's not there's no hope, because Iran knows it's being watched," said Sekulow. "The only hope for [Nadarkhani] right now is that one of the ayatollahs steps in." [Because of the secrecy surrounding the case,] "we won't know who stepped in or how, but it will still be a victory."
"I hope people will pray for him and for the Iranian authorities and that the right thing will be done. It's the only thing that some of us can do," said Pitts.

67 Years Ago Today

Probably the bloodiest battle ever fought by the United States Marine Corps, took place on a tiny little island in the Western Pacific in February and March of 1945. The fight was over an island, which up until World War II, most Americans knew nothing about. The island, a very small island – but a very strategic island militarily, was not much larger than eight square miles, sticking above the surface of the Pacific Ocean. The Japanese Imperial Army intended to defend this seemingly insignificant rock at all costs, and like wise the Americans were prepared to capture it no matter the price.

22,000 Japanese soldiers were dug in, literally. For months they had constructed a web of underground tunnels throughout the entire island, which they would use very effectively in defend their positions against the American invaders. Colonel Thomas M. Fields, would later declare “the Japanese were not on Iwo Jima. They were in it!"

Prior to the invasion the American military amassed a huge fighting force of over 70,000 men, 800 naval ships, and many, many squadrons of B-29 bomber and fighter airplanes. Early on in the month of February the 7th Air Force bombarded the island for seven days, 24 hours a day. The Navy ships surrounding the entire island then fired on it for six additional days, with the Naval ship's largest guns.

At the end of the sixth day of shelling the island, on February 19, 1945, the Marines invaded.  30,000 thousand Marines of the 4th and 5th Divisions stormed the island beaches. 40,000 more Marines from the 3rd Division would follow in the next days to follow. Over 2,000 Marines and Navy Corpsman would die before the first day was over, countless others would be wounded. Over 6,000 American men would die before the battle came to an end several weeks later. This battle was the only U.S. Marine battle where the American casualties exceeded the enemies casualties, but Japanese combat deaths numbered more than three times as many as the American. The Marine Corps causality number for the entire battle exceeded 26,000 dead and wounded. All but a very small handful of the 22,000 Japanese defenders were killed in action.

When the battle was over on March 26, 1945 the United States Marine Corps had successfully secured total control over the entire island. It was the first time in over 5,000 years since an invading enemy force had successfully invaded Japanese territory.

Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz described the fighting Marines best when he described them with these words Uncommon valor was a common virtue." That statement became the legacy of the entire United States Marine Corps.

The tremendous loss of life in this battle, on both sides, convinced President Truman to start preparing to drop an atomic bomb on mainland Japan to bring the war to an end. That decision became the legacy of the Battle of Iwo Jima.

The land invasion began 67 years ago today.

One Thing I Ask

The LORD is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?

One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek Him in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at His tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.

Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.

I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

Healthcare Is Not A Right

Rights are bestowed upon men by God. Rights are also timeless, and transcend culture and technology. There is no such thing as a right that is not God-given. The God-given rights include life (which can only be given by God) and freedom to choose (as first exercised with dubious skill by Adam and Eve). Healthcare is not a right. Healthcare is a service commodity that is either sold or donated from one person (a doctor) to another person (a patient). The patient does not have the RIGHT to the doctor’s time, skill, knowledge or expertise. To say that a patient has a RIGHT to those things is to dehumanize and subjugate the doctor to the patient by force of law. Christ does not call us to forcefully subjugate one another. He calls us to subjugate ourselves – which is an entirely different matter, and is ultimately an exercise of our God-given right to free choice.
If we do not make this distinction, aren’t we operating in the same mindset and worldview that justifies abortion? Isn’t abortion the forced subjugation of one person (the baby) to another person or persons (the mother, father, etc.) in the name of false “rights”, namely the “right” to not be inconvenienced? The hallmark of Marxism is the reduction of human beings to units of economic value, and declaring doctors to be slaves to another person’s “rights” is precisely that. History shows us that once this mindset is adopted, there is no end. Up next will be the forced subjugation of those who produce food – because if healthcare is a “right”, then surely food is a “right” as well. Next up will be those who produce clothing, followed closely by those who build homes, followed by those who build cars, followed by those who produce energy. Where this process ends is totalitarian statism wherein every person is a slave to the state, and thus an object – not a subject.
One more logical point. I said earlier that rights, by definition, transcend culture and technology. If healthcare is indeed a right, then it must follow that a pre-Columbian resident of the Amazon River Basin was deprived of his fundamental human rights because he did not have access to modern healthcare. That is, of course, ridiculous. I find that if one uses this cultural-technological transcendency criterion as a litmus test, it helps bring into clear focus what is and what is not a right. - Ann Barnhardt

Though I Walk In The Midst Of Trouble

I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; before the “gods” I will sing your praise.

I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame.

When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life.

You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.

The LORD will vindicate me; your love, LORD, endures forever— do not abandon the works of your hands.

To You, O LORD, I Lift Up My Soul

 The LORD is my Shepherd…

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…

He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the LORD.

To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul…

No one whose hope is in You will ever be put to shame…

Who, then is the man that fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him. He will spend his days in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land. The LORD confides in those who fear Him; He makes His covenant known to them.

He Never Hit His Thumb With A Hammer

Jesus, our creator, the Son of God, 1/3rd part of the Trinity, and our redeemer, humbled Himself to become a man and set aside the powers of His deity. That is He emptied Himself of his heavenly powers and his authority to become obedient to death. Jesus set aside His deity, and took on the appearance of a man – in other words, He became a man. His Spirit did not change, but His soul became just like the souls of all other men, and His spirit began living in an earthly body of flesh. He became physically, emotionally, willfully, and mentally the same as any other man. The one difference between Jesus and other men was His entrance into this world was without sin. He was born sinless.

Although He was born without sin, He, was capable of and subject to sin the same as any other man. He was born without sin, but He could have sinned and could have done so at any point in His life. Thank God He never did. What He did do was become a perfect sinless sacrifice for ALL the sins ever found in the heart of man. Unequivocally and without question “All means All - ALL means every sin”!

It is interesting to think about what His life was like – that is Jesus being a perfect man and all that that entails. What does it really mean to be perfect as Jesus was perfect? Did He ever come down with the common cold, or other common childhood sicknesses? Did He ever fall and scrape His knees? Did He every demonstrate disrespect towards His earthly parents? Did He cry out as a baby? And if so why? Did He cry because He was irritable; or because He didn’t get His way? As a child, or even a man for that matter, did Jesus ever get sick or did He ever injure Himself (i.e. break a bone, bump His head, accidently cut Himself on some sharp object, etc.)?

Just how human was Jesus, and the flip side of the question is just how perfect was Jesus? He was absolutely, 100%, completely, totally perfect. In every way Jesus was a perfect human being. He was a perfect human being who had as many opportunities to sin as any other human being has. After all He had a mind. His mind was human mind. His mind could have led him astray with thoughts and temptations. We can be sure Jesus had thoughts consisting of sinful temptations (which was His human side), but He never allowed those evil thoughts or sin temptations to enter into His heart (which was His perfect side).

Like other men, Jesus not only had a mind, but He also had a will. He could have aloud His will to be either selfish or unselfish, prideful or humble . We know a man’s will can dwell on things other than God’s will, and the manifestation of those thoughts allows sin to exist. On the other hand, Jesus never did sin, therefore, we know His will was always perfectly matched with His heavenly Father’s will.

Jesus could have allowed His emotions to overwhelm Him from time to time. Had He yielded to His emotions to the point of not believing or trusting God Jesus would have entered into sin. He could have sinned in anger, pride, hate, lust, bitterness, etc., but He never did. He was tempted and tried in all areas (mind, emotions, will, and body), but never yielded to those temptations; never became sick; never accidentally injured Himself; and never allowed pride or fear to enter His heart. Jesus never did anything God didn’t want Him to do. He always did what God wanted Him to do.

Did He cry as a newborn? Yes, long enough to clear His lungs. He was a human baby, He needed to clear His lungs like all other human babies do, and most human babies clear their lungs with a cry – plus the cry reassured the parents of their newborn child was a health baby. The cry of a newborn was not a sin in the baby Jesus or any other baby, any more than the first smile of a newborn is a sin, or the first wobbly step is a sin.

Did Jesus cry as a growing infant? Yes, as a human baby He could not speak. Thus, He would cry out to let His mother know when He was hungry. Being hungry is not a sin. He cried when He was thirsty. He cried when His diapers needed changed. He cried when He needed to be picked up and patted on the back. He cried to express to His parents what He needed. That is the way human babies communicate. What Jesus did not do was to cry out when He didn’t need anything. He didn’t cry out for selfish attention. He didn’t cry out in any sort of temper tantrum. He was a perfect human baby.

Did Jesus ever physically, mentally, emotionally or willfully experience anything any other children or adults experience. No! Was He ever indirectly affected? Yes, He was tempted and He was tried, but unlike all sinful men, Jesus did not yield to those temptations or trials. It is my belief, that had Adam not yielded to the temptation of eating the forbidden fruit, man would not have had to experience additional temptations ever again. The test would have been passed and the earth would have truly remained ‘Heaven on Earth’.

All of which brings me to the title of this piece, He Never Hit His Thumb With A Hammer. Sunday school teachers and theologians alike for the most part teach that Jesus learned the trade of carpentry as a boy, and went on to provide for Himself using that trade as a young man. I’m not at all sure that is true, but for the sake of this discussion let us say that is. And if that is the case then we can ask ourselves, did Jesus ever smash His thumb while swinging the hammer. I for one believe He was perfect, and because He was perfect He never missed the nail.

Right here we need to answer an obvious question. If Jesus never hit His thumb with the hammer how could he understand the humanness of those who have? Let me drive that curve ball right out of the ballpark. I do not need to have my hand or arm cutoff, in order for me to have an understanding of the pain and permanent disability that would follow. Jesus did not have to hit His thumb to understand the resulting pain and suffering.

Jesus did not need to experience physical pain or physical suffering rooted in the results of sin. No, that pain and that suffering would come when He suffered and died on the cross. He not only took upon Himself all of man’s sins, but He also took upon Himself all of man’s sicknesses and sufferings. Jesus understands to the max everything every man has ever suffered. Not because He experience those things when He walked this earth, but because He experienced those things when He died on the cross as the perfect substitute bearing all sin.

Jesus was able to swing the hammer and never miss the nail, not because He was God, but rather because He was a sinless human being. In other words, because He was a man without sin, a man without one flaw, He never hit His thumb with the hammer. Had He used His heavenly authority to live a perfect life there would have been no point for Him to become a man. It was essential for Him to live His entire life as a man with none of the powers or none of the authority that rightfully belonged to Him. It was essential for Jesus to live His entire life without sin or blemish, and do it without the supernatural power He possessed when He created the sun, the stars, the earth or man himself. He had to live completely and totally as a man – a man relying only on the authority of His Father; a man perfect in every way; a man without sin. Then and only then was it possible for Jesus to become the propitiation for all the sins of all mankind.
